The 2016 Saylorville Dam Jam had a variety of conditions. Saturday morning had light and variable wind and two races were completed before breaking for lunch. There was slightly more wind after lunch, but still variable in direction and strength. A Fleet and Sport completed 5 more races Saturday afternoon (total of 7), and Kona completed 4 more races (total of 6).
Sunday morning the forecast was for a building breeze, so we got going pretty early and cranked out three races, each one with more wind than the previous. The last race was in 15-20 mph wind, and many sailors continued to free ride for a good part of the afternoon after racing.
Many thanks to “Low Boom” Larry Reed, Barry Tofteland, Jeff Hegwer & his RC crew, Mike Fox and everyone else who helped organize and run this event. It was a great time.
